Hi, I'm the heart behind Budget and Bloom Studio.
By day, I'm a special education teacher at a local high school — and I've been working with students with disabilities for 29 years. Many of the students I work with need to learn the life skills that they will need to live independently. One of my favorite things to teach them? How to budget. Because I know firsthand what a difference it makes.
Budgeting has pulled me through some of the hardest seasons of my life. It's not just a financial tool for me — it's a lifeline. And it started simply: paper envelopes and markers. Nothing fancy, just a system that worked.
From Paper Envelopes to Something Beautiful
Over time, I started making my envelopes prettier. Then more organized. Then I made full binders for my adult kids when they started budgeting — and they loved them. That's when it clicked: if I could make something this useful and this beautiful, other people would love it too.
That's how Budget and Bloom Studio was born.
Why Pretty Matters
Here's what I believe with my whole heart: if it's pretty and fun, you're more likely to use it. And if you use it, saving a little leads to a lot.
I don't want budgeting to feel like a punishment. I want it to feel like something you look forward to — something you're proud to pull out of your bag. That's why every binder, every tracker, every envelope is made with care and intention.
